PITTSBURGH (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man to prison for nearly 25 years in a 1977 double murder released from state prison Friday after a federal judge said he was wrongly convicted because of the "outrageous misconduct" of two prosecutors who are now judges state.

David Munchinski, 59, said he was not bitter, but his head was "spinning" as he tried to take in the environment outside the State Correctional Institution at Pittsburgh.

"Well, if anyone cares, it's a good day today," he joked to reporters waiting Munchinski."I'm probably gonna get a lobster and shrimp."

Munchinski was released more than five hours after U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Lenihan approved the application Munchinski to be released on bail to live with her daughter, near Tampa, Florida

"I'm so happy right now, I'm having a hard time to put it into words," daughter Raina Tousey New Port Richey, Florida, said after Friday's decision. "This is the day we were waiting, and I can not wait to take my dad home."

Munchinski daughter was 11 when he was convicted in 1986 of murdering and sexually assaulting James Alford and Raymond Gierke in Bear Rock, Fayette County, a rural community full of expensive A-frame houses.

Lenihan said in a notice of habeas corpus last month that the "outrageous misconduct" of the time, Fayette County District Attorney Gerald Solomon and his assistant, Ralph Warman, during the trial "a veil of doubt on each piece of evidence presented by the prosecution in support of his thesis."Basically, Lenihan prosecutors found evidence that could have hidden cast doubt on the guilt of Munchinski.

Solomon and Warman, now both ordinary judges Means Fayette County, did not immediately return calls Friday.

"I hope they meet justice," said Munchinski former prosecutors, but he focused on the efforts of his daughter and the lawyer Noah Geary to release it. They were assisted by the Innocence Institute of Point Park University students led by former Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Moushey journalist-turned-professor Bill who took the case Munchinski as their first project 10 years ago.

Moushey said his group is "grateful that things have been restated today that Judge Lenihan said are wrong."

Munchinski studied law in prison and helped the call. He said he would work for a lawyer if he can find one willing to hire him.

Oh, let’s not forget about numeric, performance and health improvements…while dieting.  After 6 months of light to moderate caloric deficit dieting (re-comp), Val dropped from 129 lbs @ 19% bodyfat (via DEXA and my 14 years experience using skinfold calipers) to 118lbs @ 12% bodyfat!

Mind you, this is without doing any sort of pre-contest depletion (low-carb, sodium/water manipulation, diuretics, etc), so if the numbers don’t sound like much for 6 months…its because none of the weight lost was water/glycogen/muscle.  In fact, I’d guess her muscles hold more water and glycogen now than they did when we started…they’re definitely stronger.
