Probe launched into unexplained death

AN investigation has been launched following “an unexplained death” in the Ensbury Park area of Bournemouth.

Police were alerted by Dorset Ambulance Service at 9.19 am yesterday after a woman’s body was found in a residential property on Doveshill mobile home park in Barnes Road.

The woman, who has not been named, was certified dead at the scene and her death is being treated as “unexplained”.

Forensic officers examined the scene for clues while house to house enquiries were carried out by uniformed officers and efforts were made to trace the woman’s next of kin.

Investigating officer Det Insp Neil Phillips from Bournemouth and Poole CID told the Daily Echo: “There have been no arrests – a man is helping us with our inquiries. He is believed to be known to the woman.”

He added: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.”

The Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset Coroner Sheriff Payne has been informed and an inquest will be held at a later date.
