McQueen Scores First Finish Outside Top 10 of the Season
VENTURA, Calif. -- Lining up 22nd in the feature, Bakersfields Shannon McQueen carefully guided her McQueen Racing #7 Spike/Esslinger to a respectable 11th place finish in the VRA sanctioned event at the 1/5-mile Ventura Raceway on Saturday, June 25, ending her streak of Top 10 runs. Prior to this race, McQueen had compiled nine consecutive top 10 feature finishes.Not pulling well enough from the corner, McQueen battled not reaching enough RPMs, causing her car to be tight.
Fuel issues caused McQueen to miss hot laps, giving no time to work on the chassis set up for the very dusty track. With these conditions, McQueen elected to remain cautious and wise, not wanting to end up sidelined to due aggressive driving, finishing eighth in Heat 1.
After 10 races, including one feature victory, McQueen continues leading the BCRA Dirt points.

Last Sunday afternoon, the team returned to their shop CHR went after they finished one of the toughest schedules in the summer ... six races in nine days leading to "Sprint Speedweek Ohio" starting tonight at Attica Raceway Park.

* As we approach mid-season in northern Ohio, attention turns to the "Sprint Speedweek Ohio" as the best teams in the region of Ohio (and beyond) will be competing for the scholarship night All Star 8-track of 9 days. As the series criss-crosses the state beginning tonight, several of the FAST Series regulars will compete against the All Stars on their home turf three times throughout the 8 events. The Speedweek schedule then heads to KC Raceway (6/18), Millstream Speedway (6/19), Waynesfield Motor Sports Park (6/20), Fremont Speedway (6/21), Sharon Speedway (6/22). After a break in the action on Thursday night, the teams then head to Limaland Speedway (6/24) and conclude the week at Fremont Speedway (6/25), once again for the “$10,000 to Win” finale.
