AACS copyright protection really sucks. I've experienced that problem myself, and had customers complain about it. I think people who bought early generation HDTVs should form a group and sue blu-ray manufacturers. They pay for an HD movie and it's crippled. After all, if the industry was seriously concerned about piracy over component connections they would make it not work at all, not just work in SD. Very unreasonable. Sony's PS3 copy protection is already draconian, now they've made it worse. I love my original "fat" PS3... I got mine during the initial rush when they were sold out everywhere back in 2007, so it has sentimental value to me... I plan on upgrading the hard drive soon, but the only thing I really need the hard drive space for is saving game demos and some downloadable games. The part that DOES bother me is this new standard... I have my PS3 hooked up to an HD projector showing on a 108" screen in my theater room. The projector has HDMI, but the receiver is a little older so it doesn't have HDMI, but I've been enjoying 1080i (versus 1080p) content from my PS3 through the component cables. I hate that this new "standard" would force me to have to replace my perfectly good receiver just to get the same quality I enjoy right now...A V Cable - News
