Kickers announce SPCA Paws in the field of Night April 9

RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce their fourth year of the Richmond SPCA Paws Pitch Night, presented by Chipotle, when they host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this Saturday, April 9. Fans are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends with them for a night of fun and professional soccer. The kickoff is scheduled for 17:00 to Richmond City Stadium, located off of Highway Downtown.

“We are delighted to return to City Stadium for another wonderful, pet-friendly night of professional soccer with the Richmond Kickers,” said Tabitha Hanes, director of communications for the Richmond SPCA. “Dog lovers in Richmond are lucky to have the Kickers provide them with this great opportunity for a fun evening in the company of their four-footed best friends. We also hope to place many deserving dogs and cats in new homes during the game.”

The Richmond SPCA Tail Wag’N adoption vehicle will be in attendance, seeking to match homeless pets with new adopters. Pet-friendly vendors will also be present and the Richmond SPCA humane education mascot, Waggles, will mingle with fans.

Founded in 1891, the Richmond SPCA is central Virginia’s oldest non-profit, no-kill humane organization dedicated to the principle that every life is precious. As a national leader in humane education and care, the Richmond SPCA is aggressively tackling the problem of pet overpopulation through adoption, rehabilitation and spay/neuter. The organization saves the lives of more than 3,000 homeless animals each year and cares for approximately 350 cats and dogs daily.
